I enjoyed the story! I liked the way Ms. Evans flipped the script: male working his way through college and "cougar" lady who really captured his interest (she was smitten, too) and he was a virgin (consulted UTube, now that cracked me up). When a person has a goal, sometimes they haveto do whatever.

In light of the fact that I received a copy of this book to review, I felt obliged to at least attempt reading it. I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of feeling and emotional maturity of the story. In a situation that shouldn't have worked, two adults find solace and wisdom in each other. Judgemental family and friends drain Tess and Elijah of energy and in a moment of time they find each other. As short as this novelette is, it is packed with storyline, and I would have loved an epilogue to set me heart at rest. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I reviewed this book as part of an arc program for e-book discovery. I really enjoyed this story about a young man Elijah, who is finishing college and working as a stripper and server, and Tess, an older woman. Tess is having a lot of changes in her life and is very unhappy. She goes to a strip club as part of a bachelorette party and meets Elijah. They share a conversation and after Tess gets everyone home and settled from the party, she returns to the club to find Elijah. This was a story about finding love and taking chances when they arise in your life. Tess and Elijah have a chance at happiness and have to decide if they want to be happy or do what everyone else thinks they should. Good story.

I haven't read anything from this author before but I loved this book, the story was great, 2 lost souls who were finding it hard being treated the way they were by their families. Tess was struggling knowing her friends were leaving town and her sister was pulling her down with her constant wasn't if money. Elijah has now got to find his own way through college when his parents cut his funding.
Tess and Elijah find comfort from each other can that be enough for them.
I loved everything about this book, it was a great romance and I couldn't pot it down. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.
I'd recommend it to anyone that likes a great romance, well worth a read.
I just finished the story of Tess and Elijah and it is not what I expected, but much better.
Tess is a 34 year old professional woman celebrating one of ber best friends' bachelorette party at a local Atlanta strip club. There waiter is a flirtatious but polite young man then they see him on stage as "Jackhammer" and it starts all types of hormones for the ladies. Tess receives a phone call from her sister and steps outside to take it. After the call is finished she is upset and doesn't realize that someone from inside the club stepped out into their small break area and heard her. It is him, the waiter, and he seems to see through the mask she wears. He gives her some really mature advice (best I have seen in a book in a long time) and after she gets the bride to be and the others home and tucked in, she heads back to the club to see if Elijah is still there. She sees him as she is ready to leave and they walk out together. She kisses him and they end back up at her place were she finds out that he was a virgin, working in the club because of his parents who refused to pay for his last year of college if he wasn't going to only study for the seminary, and he is only 21.
I have to admit I wasn't expecting such a well developed story line and characters with a story of this length, usually one or both are missing, but they only things I wanted was a little more proofing to remove the few remaining grammatical errors and an epilogue, unless there is going to be a sequel.
This book does contain language, fairly detailed erotic / intimate scenes and descriptions of erotic male dancers. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the eroticism a 8.

Lindsay knows how to craft a story around steamy scenes keeping you both enthralled in the story yet anticipate the next sex scene. I don't read Romance Novels but I do read Lindsay Evans.
I'm a fan of Ms. Evans. This book was a good read, on the steamy side compared to her other books but I still enjoyed it. kinda wish there was an epilogue that gave an idea of what happened when Tess made the move with Elijah.
