S.J. did it again. Every time she manages to amaze me. Fix Your Makeup definitely didn't let me down. It had it all. Laughs. Love. Sex. From the start you are pulled in with the humor and complete realness of the characters. You can completely relate to one or more of them. Mason is one of my favorite book boyfriends with his sweet southern charm and I'm jealous of Red on a regular basis. Mary Lou is up to even more shenanigans which has me laughing the entire time.Lots of major information is revealed in this book that puts their friendships and relationships to the test. Can they survive all that is thrown their way? You'll have to read to find out. I for one am counting down the days until Say a Prayer for the great finale of this serial.

By this time we are in love with Mason and Red, well really all of the characters. We want to see them happy and see what types of shenanigans they get up to. This book will have you laughing and crying. I can't wait for the next one, I need to know what happens immediately.
I love this series and cannot wait until Part 4 comes out!! But here's the deal - the typos and misspelled/misused words drive me batty!! Editing is important. Seriously. Such an interesting story, excellent character development, but shoddy editing. I hope Part 4 shows improvement in that area. I wish they were coming out faster!!
Well written, and mostly fun story. I have been in love with these characters and this story line from the start, but this installment seemed slower than the others and Red is getting a little too dramatic for my personal preference. Other than those 2 gripes, this is a good read, and I am still looking forward to the next installment. (Hopefully Red isn't as dramatic and whiny.)
I really wanted to like this book.. the first in the series was suggested by a close friend. The way the story bounces from the views of many characters and different times in their lives, it makes it VERY HARD TO FOLLOW. I read thru all 3 of the series that are available to this date.. ... mainly because I always get caught up in a story line and HAVE to know how it ends.... not sure I will purchase the 4th since it is many months away... I am just not sure it would be worth the wait.
Not sure what happened to my first review of this book...... But I will say I LOVED IT!!
There are ups and downs following the gang in Freemont, OK and yes you will have your pick of book boyfriends. The author brings all these characters to life, giving them all very real personalities. You will LOVE this installment of the Like A Lady Series, just like me.
I read the first not realizing it was part of a series. You can't read one without the others, because every books ends with a cliffhanger like the end of a TV series which drives me crazy! That being said I got so hooked that I bought all the available books in the series and pre-ordered the next one. I found the jumping from past to present sometimes annoying, but it gives you the background knowledge you need to understand what is happening in current day events. It's an easy read and the characters will attach themselves to your heart.
This is part 3 of an OK story (I've read all three), BUT
1. I'm kind of getting tired of paying $12-15 to read the edition of a whole book. By the time I pay $3-4 per part, it's an expensive book. And not worth it, in my opinion. This isn't WAR AND PEACE, for pity's sake. Just write the darn book. And
2. I understand why self-publishing is attractive to writers, but this author (among others) needs an editor--badly. There are extensive grammar errors in all three parts of the series. For example, mean, gossipy old ladies aren't "bitties", they're biddies (singular = biddy). And, please, let's learn the difference between peek and peak. All three books are full of errors like this, and I think someone who proudly touts her degree in English Lit wouldn't make these mistakes over and over. Maybe I only notice them because I'm an English teacher, but they actually make it difficult for me to read. Surely there's someone who would edit for a small fee?
